Untroubled by those who desire to o’ersee
The lives of their neighbours, and know their affairs,
Presenting themselves just as someone who cares,
But really they just want to be in control,
Directing the life of each other poor soul
Who hasn’t the money or status or power
To keep their lives private, unexposed every hour
To the eyes of officials, who think they’re in need,
Having long reached the stage where they cannot concede
They mightn’t be wanted, and people could cope
If they weren’t encouraged to live without hope,
Caught up in a life where their “vulnerable” state,
Means that officials have charge of their fate.
