Shortage of Time

So many books I want to read.
But never have the time I need
To do as much as just skim through
More than just a very few.
All the time I learn of more
Literature I would adore,
If only I had time to sit
And spend my days just reading it.
I’ve just discovered Hardy wrote
A thousand poems, which could float
Through my brain, if only I
Had time; but I can only sigh
And at the moment live in hope
That one day soon I’ll have the scope
To spend some hours in Hardy’s world
As all his poetry’s unfurled.
