Tradition helps cement belonging, making people feel that
they
Are a part of something bigger, dating from a former day.
The present joins the past and future, linking both within a
line,
With tradition carrying forward, and so often being the sign
That unites a group of people, all of whom have come to
share
A history and a way of living, to which the young will be
the heir.
