The swans glide gently over the water.
Their long necks curved in the shape of an "S";
What goes through their minds as the silently swim,
No person can even begin to guess.
The cygnets all follow, stretched out in a row,
Pale, fluffy balls who still cannot swim straight;
They frantically paddle so not to be left,
Alone where an eagle might settle their fate.
