Watching the Boats on the Lake

I lazily watch all the boats on the lake,
And idly follow the ripples they make,
Disturbing the water as they skim along -
Boating and lakes always seem to belong.
The whole scene is peaceful; no sound stirs the air,
Except for the oars of the boatmen out there,
And voices which carry quite far from their source,
For there is no traffic to mask them of course.
