Hoverflies

They never stop within their flight
To land and give a nasty bite,
Or for a single second pause
To leave some germs where they can cause
Some nasty illness, as is the case
With the common housefly race.
They simply come when it is warm
And in a rather obvious swarm,
And landing on the pavement lie,
Till tramped on by passers-by.
