Library Closures

They want to close our libraries down -
How foolish can they get?
For that's the most short-sighted thing,
That they have thought of yet.
Instead of closure they should think
Of how they could expand;
For surely it's not much to ask,
That they should understand
The vital role that libraries have
In passing knowledge on,
And once they're closed, the books sold off,
That role's forever gone.
So add computers, study rooms,
Talks and lectures too,
Activities for young and old,
And see them grow anew.
