Working Hours

I'd like to work from six to two,
For that would  give me time to do
So many things I can't achieve,
While it's impossible to leave
The office before five o'clock,
Which as is obvious puts a block
On everything from two till five,
A time when I am quite alive.
And in winter daylight's passed
When I finish work at last;
So going out is not such fun
As when the night has not begun.
Unfortunately, there are few jobs
Where full-time working never robs
A person of the chance to spend
Their afternoons out with a friend.
Doing what they want to do -
Unfortunate, but usually true.
