Noise in the City

In London it is difficult to get away from noise,
The constant hum of traffic hopes of silence soon destroys;
And then there are the aeroplanes criss-crossing overhead,
And circling helicopters, of which flights are now widespread.
The noise of all the people as they walk along the streets,
Often talking loudly, playing music with low beats.
The sound of endless sirens, whether ambulance or police,
Is something on a busy road that never seems to cease.
The noise from people's houses in the summer-time as they
Keep their windows open both at night and in the day.
The noises of trains and buses is just part of London life,
Another extra source of sound where noisiness is rife.
The noise from all the building sites so prevalent today
Which  it seems at present will not likely go away.
Always in a city there is constant noise around;
Only in the country peace and silence can be found.
