The Evening Rush Hour at a Train Station

I'm sitting in a station, watching as the crowds
Rush across the concourse with their heads up in the clouds;
Looking not to left or right, they swiftly make their way
To catch the train to take them home after the working day;
Their faces blank, with not a sign of interest there being shown,
So little thought for others that they could be all alone.
They touch their cards while passing through the barriers to the trains,
Their focus on the journey home is all that still remains
To occupy their minds until they reach their journey's end
When at last from out the train they finally can descend.
