Women and Sport

Some cultures are adamant no woman ought
To take any part in an organised sport;
They think such activities solely belong
To men, and for women they're totally wrong.
They can't understand sport's a good thing for all
And women as well can hear clearly the call
To play in a team, to be part of a crowd,
And it's really outrageous if they're not allowed
In this modern age, where it's well recognised,
And really it can't be too much emphasised
That women like sports and the chance to do well,
And there's many an area where they excel;
Not only that but all know there's a wealth
Of research that shows it is good for their health.
But still there are some who have not thought it through
And go on retaining their outdated view.
