All Children should Learn to Sing

Every child should learn to sing,
For that is something that can bring
To every little girl and boy,
A whole new world they can enjoy.
Singing's something all can do,
It's for the many, not the few.
Working people in the past,
Invented music that would last
Toiling in the fields they'd hatch
Catchy tunes, with words to match,
Folk songs grew throughout the earth,
With every country giving birth
To songs and music all their own,,
Where people both exult and moan.
A teacher doesn't need to train
For many years until they gain
Certificates to show that they
Have learned  sufficient that they may
Teach the children how to sing,
When what they really need's to cling
To joyous folksongs at the start,
The sort of songs that form a part
Of every country's history
And I think we'd all  agree
Are usually simple and great fun
And can be taught by anyone.
