Mayfield Lavender

Acres and acres of purple hue,
Stretching away till out of view.
Row upon row of purple and green
Divided by small little paths between,
Allowing people to walk along,
And savour the scent, so sweet and strong.
And then there's the shop with shelves stacked high
With lavender products for people to buy;
Scent and soaps, and hand cream too,
Cakes and jams, to name but a few.
Bunches of lavender picked from the fields,
The flowers from each one of which easily yields
Enough dried out lavender for you to fill
Several large bowls which will be around still
In a year or two's time, for they are meant
To last simply ages,  giving out scent.
Then there's the cafe, with food hot and cold,
Where icecreams and soft drinks also are sold.
